American Ballet Theatre
ABT's summer season continues as the company performs Ronald Hynd’s "The Merry Widow" on Monday, June 30, led by Julie Kent as Hanna Glawari, Jose Manuel Carreño as Count Danilo Danilowitch, Xiomara Reyes as Valencienne and Gennadi Saveliev as Camille. Paloma Herrera, Marcelo Gomes, Maria Riccetto and Sascha Radetsky will debut in these roles on Tuesday, July 1. The evening performance on Wednesday, July 2 will feature Irina Dvorovenko as Hanna Glawari, with debuts by Maxim Beloserkovsky as Count Danilo Danilowitch, Yuriko Kajiya as Valencienne and Jared Matthews as Camille.

Celebrating Jerome Robbins: New York City Ballet at the JCC
The JCC hosts a celebration of Jerome Robbins, which will include film clips of Robbins rehearsing his dances, a panel discussion about Robbins—the man and his work—with Ellen Sorrin, member of the Advisory Committee of the Jerome Robbins Trust and Jock Soto, a former principal New York City dancer. Members of the company will also perform excerpts from Robbins' dances. At 7pm.

New York Story: Jerome Robbins and His World
The most celebrated American choreographer of his time, Jerome Robbins belongs uniquely to New York. He was born in the city and died there, and his dances, both for Broadway and for the ballet stage, recounted its lore and the joys and travails of its ordinary folk. His dances touched a contemporary chord. They conveyed vernacular energies and communal pleasures, echoed the rhythms of jazz, and were set physically and psychologically in New York landscapes. New York Story: Jerome Robbins and His World explores Robbins's work in the context of the many, overlapping New York worlds that met in it. The exhibit has been curated by Lynn Garafola, professor of Dance at Barnard College.

Jerome Robbins' "Community" of Dancers
Jerome Robbins' ballets intimately affect viewers and dancers alike with their vibrancy, sense of community, and exploration of relationships and human experience. Robbins' ballet masters will discuss how they keep the spirit and immediacy of this master choreographer’s work alive. New York City Ballet's dancers will reveal how Robbins' work affected their lives and careers, and their experiences as part of his "community" of dancers onstage. Special, archival rehearsal footage will be shown of Robbins.
Special guests: Robbins' Ballet Masters Jean Pierre Frohlich and Christine Redpath and NYCB Principal Dancers Wendy Whelan and Benjamin Millepied. At 6pm.

ABT's summer season continues as "Don Quixote" will have the first of eight performances on Monday, June 9, with Gillian Murphy as Kitri, Ethan Stiefel as Basilio, Stella Abrera in her debut as Mercedes and David Hallberg as Espada. At the matinee on Wednesday, June 11, Herman Cornejo will make his New York debut as Basilio, dancing opposite Xiomara Reyes as Kitri. Cornejo previously performed the role with ABT in Tokyo, Japan in 2005. Other debuts for the week include Kristi Boone as Mercedes at the matinee on Wednesday, June 11, Maria Riccetto as Mercedes at the evening performance on Wednesday, June 11, Jared Matthews as Espada on Thursday, June 12, and Michele Wiles and David Hallberg as Kitri and Basilio on Friday, June 13.

A series of talks focusing of rememberances of Jerome Robbins. All guests and moderators knew Mr. Robbins or worked with him for a number of years.
On Tuesday, Robert La Fosse will speak of his relationship with Robbins, with Joan Quatrano moderating. From 6:45pm-7:30pm.

Fred & Adele Astaire Awards
America's only honor recognizing excellence in dance on both stage and film, the Fred & Adele Astaire Awards will honor some of the greatest talents in dance. Highlights of the evening will include this year's Award honorees Spencer Liff - Best Male Dancer on Broadway for his dancing in "Cry Baby"; Karen Olivo - Best Female Dancer on Broadway for her dancing in "In The Heights"; Rob Ashford - Best Choreography on Broadway for his work in "Cry Baby" and Dave Scott, Hi -Hat & Jamal Sims - Best Choreography in Film for their work in the film "Step up 2: The Streets" as well as Brooke Shields presenting nine-time Tony Award and two-time Astaire Award-winner Tommy Tune with the first Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award. At 6:30pm.
