A Two Part Affair - Ballet and Modern Meet Uptown
Works & Process commissions choreographers Brian Reeder and Pam Tanowitz to collaborate on an evening of new dance pieces. Renaissance music and contemporary waltzes are performed by virtuoso pianist Alan Feinberg. Dance writer Robert Greskovic moderates the discussion with the creative team, including costume designer and Project Runway finalist Jillian Lewis. At 7:30pm.

Focus on the '70s: The Fabulous Photography of Kenn Ducan
n the 1970s and early 1980s world of photography, Kenn Duncan was a name to be reckoned with. Duncan was a principal photographer for the entertainment magazine After Dark and for Dance Magazine, which chronicled the world of dance and choreography. Photographs by Kenn Duncan also appeared in Vogue,Harper’s Bazaar,Life,Time, and Newsweek. In addition, he photographed a dozen Broadway shows, including "Hair", "Applause", "The Elephant Man", and "Sophisticated Ladies", and published three volumes of his own photographs: "Red Shoes, Nudes, and More Nudes." This retrospective of his 20-year career includes his iconic images of Mikhail Baryshnikov, Angela Lansbury, Rudolf Nureyev, Bette Midler, and the cast of Hair, as well as selections from his nudes and his work with hundreds of celebrities. Duncan’s complete archive was acquired by the Library in 2003 and is part of the Billy Rose Theatre Division. A provocative commentary on an explosive topic, this powerful piece uses integrated text, movement, and extended vocal techniques to depict the story of an American citizen who is kidnapped by our government, interrogated and tortured in a secret prison while we stay glued to the tube following our favorite models, pop stars, and fashion queens. Tere O'Connor Dance
Following its New York premiere last year, Tere O'Connor brings "Rammed Earth" to Baryshnikov Arts Center for 10 performances this fall. Inspired by contemporary architecture where concepts of adaptability and human interaction drive design, O'Connor has created a work that adapts to each new setting in which it is performed.
