Following the decisions by the Danish Government, RDB will stop performances until the Covid-19 reaches acceptable lewels.
Danish children are sent home from school. Cinema´s, theatres, and restaurants will close down until the numbers are diminishing. Yesterday it was announced that our young Royal Prince Christian is one of the pupils smitten in School.
While the RDB has performed brilliantly through the season, unfortunately it cannot continue due to the rising numbers Covid-19 sufferers. So far Denmark has been able to limit the numbers of covid-19 patients. However, the winter season creates more casualties and it will take some time before the vaccine is available to the communities.
Spring Season
“The Nutcracker” will close down the Christmas Seasons. Hopefully the RDB will be back in the spring season, which is planned to include “Romeo & Juliet” by John Neumeier, Mixed programs “Dance 2 go”, “The Hubbery”, “Giants Steps”, including “Serenade”, a new ballet “Sibelius 4th Symphony” by Jorma Elo , “Blixen” by Gregory Dean, “Napoli”, and “3th Symphony of Gustav Mahler” .
It was also announced that Soloist Tobias Pretorius will present a new ballet, based on “Christmas Fewer” a television Christmas series, featuring ballet students on the RDB School. It is scheduled for the spring season.
Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy these ballets later, and that RDB will continue to share ballets on their internet page, as they did during the first Corona-19 attack last spring.
Presently, you can enjoy Nikolaj Hübbe´s new version of “La Sylphide”, “Napoli” with Alban Lendorf and “Cinderella” by Gregory Dean, starring himself and Ida Praetorius on the webside. Use this link Forestilling: Sylfiden | DET KGL. TEATER
I will post as soon as there is more news.
