Maryland-based choreographer and educator Adrienne Clancy has a knack for cementing bonds among dance educators of various genres, types and levels of experience. Building a community of teachers among veteran university dance professors, public elementary school teachers, just-graduated dance majors, and everyone in between, offers, according to Clancy, something for everyone.
My article on the Dance Educators Teaching Institute (DETI), co-sponsored with Baltimore County Public Schools at Towson University's Dance Department, appears in the August issue of Dance Teacher magazine.
"What sets DETI apart, says Clancy, who is artistic director of Maryland-based ClancyWorks Dance Company, is the credo: “We all learn from each other.” This think tank–like environment, where all the facilitators participate in the entire week, makes for a tightly knit learning community." more
